You’ve bought the books — but you’re still the one trying to figure out what to do next.

You’ve tried programs — but you’re still piecing lessons together, hoping your child “gets it.”

You’ve got motivationbut your writing routine is inconsistent, your child resists assignments, and progress depends on how much energy you have left each day.

The curriculum looks great on paper. But in real life, it’s unfinished assignments, unfinished paragraphs, and tears over every rough draft.

That’s not a “just try harder” problem.

It’s a missing support and structure problem.

And that’s exactly what we solve.

When you join Foundations, you’re not getting another curriculum — you’re getting a guided system that teaches your child how to write, step by step, while we coach you through the process.

Hi, I'm Alicia

As a homeschool mom of four, I know what it feels like to give your best — and still wonder if you’re doing enough. Writing can feel like the one subject that never quite sticks, no matter how many programs you try.

I’ve been there. I know the frustration of long writing days, endless corrections, and trying to motivate a child who’s already checked out. That’s why I built Foundations™ — to give homeschool moms structure, strategy, and support, all in one place.

Our students’ results speak for themselves:
three IEW award winners1st place in Public Speaking, and 2nd & 3rd place in the 2025 IEW Writing Contest — plus over 30 published student essays in national publications.

I’m also a certified writing instructor, former corporate recruiter, and homeschool mom with three graduates — one who received a full ride to college.

Because at this stage, you don’t need more curriculum.
You need structure, coaching, and community.
That’s exactly what Foundations™ was built to deliver.

I help you give your child a writing education that rivals any private school — while surrounding you with the coaching and community that make it possible.

Introducing The Solution

Inside Foundations™, your child will get:

A Proven Framework That Builds Confidence so they always know how to start, organize, and finish every paper.

Weekly Expert Coaching & Feedback so your child gets personalized support and grows faster.

The Skill of Style so their writing sounds polished with strong word choices, transitions, and sentence variety.

Guidance to Get Published from a coach with a record of IEW contest winners and 30+ published student pieces.

Built-In Support for Parent and Student so teaching writing finally feels doable...and eventually enjoyable.

This is for homeschool parents who are ready to stop feeling behind and start following a proven writing plan — one that builds confidence, structure, and measurable progress.

If you want lessons that make sense, structure that sticks, and a writing system that finally works for your child, this is for you.

Let’s stop guessing our way through writing. Let’s finally follow a system that works.

Yes. If your charter school lists me as a preferred vendor, you simply need to request a purchase order for the class. Once received, you will be sent enrollment details for the class.

When does registration open?

Registration begins February 1 and ends August 20. Join the waitlist to get notified.

What is required of parents?

Parents play a vital role in their child’s writing growth. Each week, parents are asked to review their student’s paper to ensure assignments are completed and submitted on time, and to briefly review instructor feedback with their student. This shared awareness helps students understand how to improve and allows parents to support writing practice at home in meaningful ways. Writing is a team effort, and student success is strongest when parents, students, and instructor work together.

Who should NOT enroll?

This program is not a fit for families who are looking for a fully hands-off writing class or who view writing as something students can improve without guidance or support at home. Writing growth is a partnership, and while parents are not expected to teach or grade, they are asked to stay engaged—reviewing weekly work, ensuring assignments are submitted, and helping students understand instructor feedback.

This program is designed for committed families who see writing as a long-term investment and are willing to be part of the process. When parents, students, and instructor work together, students make meaningful, lasting progress. Families looking for a drop-off-and-disconnect experience should find a different program better aligned with their expectations.
