Writing Shouldn't Be Hard for You or Your Child

You’ve tried programs, workbooks, and teaching writing on your own.

Yet writing still ends in frustration, tears, or blank pages.

As a homeschool parent, you’re doing everything — but feedback, structure, and community are missing.

That’s where Foundations comes in.

The 3CR Approach: The Clear Path to Writing Confidence

Most homeschool families struggle with writing because they’re missing one of three things — structure, support, or feedback.

The Foundations Program brings it all together with our proven, signature 3CR Approach:

Community – Writing becomes more fun when students learn alongside peers who encourage and inspire each other. We also have an exclusive community for enrolled families.

Coaching – We provide weekly coaching for students through our classes and monthly parent huddles to support parents.

Curriculum – We use IEW’s proven Structure & Style® method to build strong, skilled writers one lesson at a time.

When Community, Coaching, and Curriculum work together, Results follow.

How The Foundations Program Works

Learn It

We start by teaching students how to plan before they write. They learn to organize their thoughts, build strong paragraphs, and use grammar and vocabulary that make their writing clear and captivating.

Write It

Students write every week. Instead of memorizing rules, they practice the foundational skills until those skills become natural. This mastery-based approach helps them grow as confident, independent writers.

Submit It

Each week, we meet to share and celebrate our writing. Students learn how to give and receive feedback. They learn to submit their writing for publication to build the confidence they’ll need later for scholarship essays.

Why It Works

We know students thrive when parents feel confident.

That’s why we don’t just teach writing — we partner with parents.

Our program gives you the tools, guidance, and community you need to support your child at home.

We know that curriculum alone isn’t enough.

With a proven, mastery-based system, clear lessons, and a parent-coach by your side, your child builds skills step-by-step — and those skills stick.

When parents are equipped, students grow faster, write better, and believe in themselves.

Inspiring Academic Success for Over a Decade

Mrs. Brown is passionate about helping students reach their full potential by providing an educational experience that adapts to each learner’s style and pace. She is a former corporate recruiter, certified writing coach, and has three high school graduates, one who received a full ride to college.

"As a homeschool mom, I know what it feels like to be stuck in the middle — too rich for aid, too poor to pay cash. I built Essay to Scholarship™ to fill the gap: to be the guidance counselor homeschoolers need. Every month, we help teens find real scholarships, write strong essays, and actually submit them."

"My life changed forever"

" I am a 13-year-old boy and Mrs. Brown has been my writing teacher for the last 2 years. When I first began writing, I really didn't like it at all. It was boring and time consuming. I just didn't feel motivated, and I never felt like I knew how to even start. After being a student with Mrs. Brown, I feel encouraged and writing has actually become something I enjoy. This year, thanks to my fantastic tutor, I developed a love for writing and I'm actually writing a book over the summer. " - Cale, Student
